Century Arms LLC Has Been Named as the Latest Defendant in Gilroy Garlic Festival Shooting Lawsuit
On the second anniversary of the 2019 tragic mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, Scarlett Law Group announced that they have secured approval from Santa Clara County Superior Court to name Century Arms LLC in the lawsuit they filed on behalf of victims and families.
The lawsuit seeks damages and injunctive relief from Century Arms LLC for marketing and selling the WASR-10 military-style assault rifle the shooter used to carry out the horrific act that killed three people and injured 17 others.
Brady Legal will also be joining the plaintiff’s legal team to lend their expertise and collaborate on the lawsuit with the attorneys at Scarlett Law Group. Randall H. Scarlett had the following to say about combining legal counsel to effectively represent victims and families of the deadly shooting:
“We welcome Brady Legal as we combine to make a meaningful difference to the lives of those irreparably changed by the events occurring at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in 2019. As plaintiffs’ legal team, we are honored to have been asked to serve, and we look forward to moving these cases forward to a just and deserved result.”
Speaking on why Brady Legal wanted to lend their support in the case, Jonathan Lowy, Chief Counsel and Vice President of Legal said:
“The victims and survivors of the assault weapon mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival will never be the same, but they have summoned the courage to take action to prevent others from suffering as they have. They have brought this lawsuit to stop the deliberate, irresponsible, and unlawful sale and marketing of military-style weapons that are so commonly used in mass attacks on Americans, in hopes of stopping future tragedies and saving more families from this pain. We look forward to proving our case in court.”
