Continuing Resolution Fiscal Year Oct 1, 2013
This past weekend, the U.S. Senate passed a Continuing Resolution for FY 2013 to keep the federal government funded through March 27, 2013. The House of Representatives passed the measure earlier this month. Passage of this legislation, which the President is expected to sign, averts a showdown on federal spending prior to the beginning of the new fiscal year on October 1, 2012. Members of Congress now return home to campaign prior to the November elections, postponing further debate on spending and tax priorities until after November 6th.
