Continuing Resolution Fiscal Year 2013

Posted By Scarlett Law Group || 24-Sep-2012

On September 13, 2012, the House of Representatives passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) for Fiscal Year 2013 which will continue funding government programs and services until March 27, 2013 or until final Appropriations legislation can be approved.

The CR continues funding at the current rate of operations for federal agencies, programs, and services as provided in applicable appropriations acts for fiscal year 2012 “and under the authority and conditions provided in such acts.” Some changes to current law (not applicable to programs of interest) are included to prevent catastrophic, irreversible, or detrimental changes to government programs, or to ensure government oversight. The United States Senate is expected to take up the bill next week.
